Background

Dr Zeineb Alsabeehg has a PhD from the School of Social and Political Science (SPS) at the University of Edinburgh. 

Alsabeehg has teaching accreditation as an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). She worked as a tutor at SPS on several courses, including courses in Politics and International Relations. Moreover, she has delivered guest lectures on citizenship and migration in the Edinburgh Law School and taught summer courses at the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest. 

While pursuing her PhD, Alsabeehg worked as a research intern at the Scottish Government and assisted on various research projects. She was also a visiting PhD researcher at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence (2022, Italy) and a visiting research fellow at the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness at the Melbourne Law School (2024, Australia).

Furthermore, Alsabeehg is a country expert for the Global Citizenship Observatory (GLOBALCIT) and has authored several country reports on citizenship laws for GLOBALCIT. She is also recognised as a regional expert by the The Free Move Project that studies free movement regimes in the world. In addition, Dr Alsabeehg has experience as a consultant for the International Labour Organization (ILO) and UNHCR.
