My research lies at the intersection of the sociology of emotions, science and technology studies (STS), and relational sociology. I am interested in how people form, understand, and communicate emotional relations with animals and material objects, and in how these relations unsettle established distinctions between the social and the material, the living and the non-living, and the human and the nonhuman.
