Dr Greenan has developed an independent research project to assess how women’s networks have influenced and changed social policy on violence against women over the last 30 years in Scotland. In addition, Dr Greenan has supported various research projects undertaken by university students and staff, including Dr Claire Houghton and Prof John Devaney.
Background
Dr Greenan is a significant leader within the third sector in relation to women’s rights, equality and violence prevention.
She is the former Chief Executive of Scottish Women’s Aid (2006-2015), Deputy Director of Zero Tolerance, Scotland (2018-2019), and Co-Director of Equate Scotland (2020).
In 2016 Dr Greenan was awarded an Honorary degree by the University of Glasgow for her significant contribution to civic life, and the support of higher education in Scotland.
