Overview

Description

Achieving 15% enrolment of refugees in higher education: Evidence review and contextual analysis from seven countries is a study of post-secondary education.

Through interviews and document analysis, this project explored the barriers encountered by refugees pursuing post-secondary education in Chad, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Iraq, Niger, Pakistan, and South Africa. Crucially, the project went beyond identifying these barriers by analysing the political economy factors that drive and shape the form of barriers to higher education for refugees. The final project report discusses key recommendations to support different stakeholders, including states, universities, and UNCHR, with achieving the 15% enrolment for refugees by 2030.

This is funded by Connected Learning in Crisis Consortium.

Project members include Andie Reynolds, Michael Gallagher, Ian Russell, Sarah Austin, Lindsey Horner, and Georgia Cole.
